I’ve been teaching photography workshops since 2006 and teaching participants how to master their camera, equipment, software, and how to express their creative vision. Many participants take multiple workshops and travel with me all over the country.
My main goals as a teacher are making sure you feel challenged and accomplished, help you gain new photography skills, and help you learn how to best express your vision and style. I want to make sure you get what you want out of the workshop. We also have fun.
I like to teach in a way that’s laid back and meets you where you are in your photo journey. While I have agendas and lesson plans made ahead of time, I’m flexible enough to take advantage of the conditions and change my lesson plans and teaching methods as needed. I’ve found through years of teaching that this is the way to best meet my student’s needs.
My workshops range in topics and locations and visit many of my favorite locations in the United States. Many happen in Grand Marais, Minnesota. Group sizes usually range from 8 to 10, and all are welcome.
When you’re in the the Grand Marais area, the north woods and north shore provide the best backdrops for your family portraits, couple portraits and vacation portraits. My organic, natural, outdoorsy style captures the spirit for your portraits.
Remember your time in Grand Marais with professional vacation portraits.
Award-winning photography to decorate your home or business. Choose from three standard media: photographic prints, fine art canvas and metal. Custom materials and sizes available upon request.
My photography appears in many magazines and calendars, and my commercial work has ranged from real estate to food to product photography. My photos can even be found in the frozen food section of grocery stores.
For stock photography, I have a large catalog of the Lake Superior and Boundary Waters region.
